Howdy, fellow CGTalk citizens! It's been a while since I posted here, so I hope some of you still remember me. :D Probably not, with the brilliant quality of artwork drifting around in here.
Anyhow, this is my latest personal project - it's pretty familiar ground (frozen, that is) with one possible exception - I've decided to try and rig the mech using no bones at all. It's perfectly possible, as you'll see below. It's also WAY more flexible. Being boneless and all. :D

Here's a couple of shows of the envronment - keep in mind that this is a simple test environment - what you should be looking at are the textures and atmosphere. The newer ones are at the bottom.

Suggestions on what could make this more "realistic" would be more than welcome.

And here's the first motion test for the Mech. Keep in mind that this does not use Max's bone system.
1.4M, Cinepak format - Will be Divx from here on out.

Well, enjoy and let me know what you think!

hey,

Excellent textures, if you are running max 5 though, you can slop on adaptive subdivisions and displacement, it'll really bump up the polygonal realism in the scene :)
