hey everyone!
I got a little project I'm working on and having a great deal of grief with matte/blue screen/blurred shot.
I have a character sitting in front of a wooded area, and he is focused while the background is blurred. When removing the blue screen, a halo of grey is left behind around the entire background. I'm trying to get rid of this halo while still trying to keep the blurred effect. doing research, I did find that blur and blue screen don't go well together. Unfortunately, I can't re-shoot this. If there is a way to fix it, or if there is a tutorial, anything...I'm open. please let me know.
here is the breakdown:
Original Footage (blue screen, unfocused bgrnd, focused character)
Background (stars)
Matte (used a focus plate of the background)
my attempt was to garbage mask the character, and used the focused matte to preserve the blurred background...but I'm running around in circles trying to figure it out.
any thoughts?
