Hi, I have a little question: how can I duplicate an object along a spline?

Hope find some help here ;)
Many thanks.

Howdy !

maybe you can have a look at the "spacing tool" that lets you duplicate objects on points and suchs.

"The Spacing Tool, available from the Array flyout, lets you distribute objects based on the current selection along a path defined by a spline or a pair of points."

(from help file)

Yes mouj I saw this tool but it copy the object by its center along the spline... I need to copy it manteining the oreginal inclination of the object.
I need to create a metal chain using torus objects: when I apply the Spacing Tool it copy the object in two ways:

- follow the spline
- or not

Without follow it's incorrect for me now, with Follow it looks good but the torus is centered with the spline and it isn't a chain!

I hope you understand my problem.

Set your spline as an animation path for your torus, you should now have a single chain link that is animated and over time follows the spline you want... next step is to use " Snapshot"... just snapshot your torus at frame one,, mover the animation slider to just where the next torus touches the first and again take a snapshot of it.... this will give you a pretty good idea on the spread of frames it takes to make an end to end chain,,and you can automate the rest of the chain now using the snapshot dialog.
