View Full Version : Plurb particle shapes
dennishmiller 01-22-2008, 03:47 AM I'm not crazy about the shapes that Pblurb is generating (two parallel planes, one behind the other with a different texture). Very geometric and hard edged. Any thoughts on how to modify the particles? 9.6/Win.
ALso, when I add any sort of deformation (need Shatter or Explosion) to one of the planes in 10, Cinema crashes... repeatedly.
Thanks in advance.

PBlurp particles can't be modified in any usefull way, PBlurp is a one trick pony within TP.
You can use a Surface or Volume emitter to deconstruct an object in particle shapes of your own choice.

Thanks Bjorn. What I'm trying to do is basically "cross dissolve" or morph one painted-looking texture that sits on one plane into another. I have the Pshape working well enough but would like to find some other ways to create a transition between the two planes appearing on the screen. Do you think Volume and Surface might be useful? Not looking for any actual particles as such. Pblurb breaks the planes up into nice fragments but I would like a little more control over their shape and position, plus I'd like to get things a little more distorted and chaotic as the planes dissolve and reform.
If you can point me to any tuts or scenes that would be good models, please do!
Thanks agian.

What kind of control over the shape are you looking for? PBlurp uses the same basic algo than PFragment. If you can tweak this for the shapes you want than you can use standard TP functions to your hearts delight. If not you will have to model the single shapes in one way or the other. Animating dozens or more of single shapes using TP is also possible, but not easy.
