CGTalk - Brushes and styles?

Hi, do you have any tips of what kind of brush (in Photoshop) that gives a nice style.
Maybe the brush I should use for backgrounds and so on! I just need a little help with choosing brushes. Thanks is advance!

It's really just a matter of experimenting with them all--take a few hours and try them all and see which ones you like. Different surface would require different brushes--for example dirt, tree bark, concrete might benefit more from the more organic brushes, while smooth skin might be better with soft round brushes, or patterns on a dress might be better with hard edged brushes...etc.
