Hi, you guys.
So I just finished up my Studio 1 project for my senior year at Savannah College of Art and Design a week or so ago, and I've got it ready to show. Some (few) may remember a WIP thread over this a while back that eventually petered out. I don't think its perfect by any stretch but its been a great learning experience and I've definitely come to know a lot about compositing techniques, tracking, and especially fluid and particle dynamics which alone makes it all worth it.

Also a higher quality Quicktime here:

The plane and smoke/fire/explosion effects are done in Maya, the smoke done with particles using a fluid shader attached (made possible in no small part by the Fluids Smoke thread in the Maya subforum) and the explosion done with a fluid simulation I spent quite a bit of time tweaking. All compositing was done in shake, which is not my strongest suit but I think I got by.
I don't have time to work on this anymore, but I'm always interested in hearing feedback, even if to apply it to future projects. Hope you like!
