View Full Version : Mayamuscle formerly Cmuscle Workflow!?

Hello ppl!

Ive been trying out the muscle plugin for Maya for a while now and found some workflow issues which, thow the docs are quite extensive, arent mentioned in the helpfiles.

Mainly it has to do with mirroring your musclework, although there is a mirrorfunction for when creating the muscle there isnt a good way to flip your custom muscleshapes.
Ive also found that regular blendshapes are often needed for places like the shoulder and
hip area where the muscle length is pretty much the same but the shape dependent on the joints angle is vastly different.

Workflow problems

*mirroring my nurbsblendshape objects over to the other side
(something along abSymmesh but for nurbs would be greatly appreciated :)

*Driving these blendshapes
(Ive been experimenting with a UV-driver that works 75 % of the time but what about when the joint passes through the driving plane? Ideally you would like to use Mr Comets poseDeformer but from what Ive learnt its only available for Maya 8 and lower)

I havent found any forums devoted to the mayamuscle plugin?!
Is there really not enough interest in musclerigs to be one?

Anybody else having problems or ideas, please step forward :D!
