ok hey buddy , i'm talking here as a critic not an animator, this work is a very good start for animating, u understand animation but there are some problems with weightings and timings that u can learn by noticing and paying attention to some references , it is obvious that your inspiration is "animation mentor" , so pay a little more attention to their showcases or clips , u chose a great inspiration so use it , :) keep up man !

thanks man. appreciate the advice. I really want to make this reel as good as it can be, so any specific segments you think should be changed in terms of weight and timing??

I think the work that comes out of AM is amazing, its funny you mentioned that.

ok for example go to the 41st second of your reel , the guy that is jumping , do u know the animation curves of a bouncing ball ? its like that , the guy must have a little more time in the air then come down and a lot of more problems with weighting and timing that i thing its because of your rig, another problem that is so obvious is the facial animation , i dont know how u animate the faces of your characters but if you are blending between to faces (morphing) stop doin that and if u have a rig , your rig is not really good so for a good animation u need a good rig , watch the victor vinyals reel --> http://www.luvictu.com/
i'm not saying that your facial rig must be like this for your first reel or second , victor vinyals is a great rigger and animator , but he can inspire you
have fun :)
