(Coming from Lightwave) I usually like to have an image to reflect for my reflective materials. In C4D, what do you typically do? Do you ad an image in the individual material's environment chanel or do you have an image in a sky object. Or both??

I know there is no set rule but just wondering what is typically used. I do medical device work so I have allot of clear, slightly reflective plastics, tubing, glass bottles, syringes, etc.

Thanks!

You can definitely use an environment channel, but then you'll need to assign the texture to all of your reflective materials. I personally use a sky object with an HDRI image in it. Then use a composite tag so the camera does not see it. So then any reflective material will see it and it's easily switched out by changing one material (the Sky object material) to try out different looks.

That sounds like a much easier and better way to go! Thanks.
