View Full Version : 'digerati' cover
Gezstar 04-26-2003, 06:43 PM This is a cover I did for Keith Giles' comic Digerati (http://www.plasticanimal.com) - you can check out a preview of it on the site.
Process-wise, it's all digital again.

Really nice work. I love the background. I would say that the gun doen't look balanced though as the rail looks too round to support it and her expression is maybe a little too vacant but then again I dont know the story.
I'm curious as to what resolution you are working at since you are illustrating for print?

OK I've fixed her eye so it doesn't look quite so vacant - she's still meant to be staring into space though :)

It's cool. I really like your style. And I believe the only reason I felt that the gun was off balance where it's positioned is because of the edge the rail closest to us isn't sharply defined. I wouldn't change that though because it's in keeping with your style. :)Trying to be constructive here which is hard because I'd rather just enjoy the image.
I like this cover a lot and I love your colour sense. I'll be watching for it appearing on the shelves.

u did it again Geztar - well done!
Very nice!
First impression was that she was laying down flat on some horizontal bars. Now that I look at it again, I guess she's leaning on a handrail and the bars are parrallel vertically to the thick one that the gun is resting on. Kind of weird ...
I don't care much for the expression on her face either. She seems dead and lifeless. But these are kind of nit-picky things. I really love your images. The background buildings are just superb and really fit the environment. You get a sense that people actually live here. Nice!
Oh ... especially liked the Bunny building with the large bunny head poking out of the top. :D

linzi - no that's totally cool. I really appreciate your constructive crits - they're dead on :)
shambler - peer, right? ;) Heheh, cheers man.
Kirt - cheers for the c&c. I was going for a kind of emotionless look on her face, cos the character's this genetically manufactured killer-type. And you noticed the bunny - nice one:buttrock:
mage111 - thanks man. I wanted the city to look 'lived-in', hence sheets, etc.
