Hi
I was playing with Hierarchy nodes and created quite a nice script governing street traffic. I have noticed however that using my setup Hierarchy->Object nodes you cannot access any of the properities of an object inside the hierarchy. I was wondering if anyone of you knows a way around it. At present I am inputing the values into 'display properties' but that's not really a solution as you need a second xpresso for each instance to then process these values.
In other words - I am looking for a sort of Tag node that would allow me to say change the reference of an instance object in a hierarchy.

An object nodes only offers the properties of the object from which the node was generated / to which the direct reference in the node points. Try to D&D an instance object in the XPresso editor and use that to be adressed by the hierarchy node. If you use an instance node specific port please note that the setup will then only work if and when the hierarchy iterator hits on an instance object.
Instead of the hierarchy node maybe use an object list iterator with only a list of the targeted instance objects in it.
Cheers

So it seems that the only way to do it is place all the objects you want to use under an instance object in object manager. Then the object node you create in xpresso editor keeps all the properities of an instance objects.

Thanks for the comeback
