View Full Version : Cooperative 3D battle, CAMAN and ABRAMS
Caman0 04-26-2003, 10:12 AM hey,
Abrams and I decided we should start working on something together, like a coop game.
i work on it for one week, with a maximum of 30k polys to add, then mr Abrams himself will work on it for a week etc etc. till we think it rocks or till we think it sucks
I started the thing, got it up to 30 k polys, so im done for this week All eyes to Abrams for next week
this is what came out:

The stabilizing systems (the lil stracks) can be lowered (right one) or folded up for transport (left one)

Great work so far!
And your process is like Photoshop Tennis (http://coudal.com/tennis.php)
One question, how is the pilot supposed to see where he is going... the wheel seems to be in his way.

Looks great !
In the new Star Wars movie was a vehicle that looked a little bit differnet. The android army used it in the final battle.
Dosn`t matter.^^
I have a question
I am working on Lightwave and I want my uncoloured model lookk in this way.
(So that it looks like a little toy made of plastic or something else)
I tried some ways, but I am not THAT experienced.
It doesn`t work, can you tell me what light- and shadow settings you used ?
Would help me much.

Hey, thanks.
It`s not for Lightwave , but I think this will work there too.
(I have simply to find out how) ^^°

How many polys does that thing have ?
I`m still working with Lightwave and I have the problem, that in some cases I can`t hide every poly.
On this points you can see the edges of the polys, how did you make it, that it becomes so smooth ?

i used meshsmooth on render in most of the cases.
it subdivides the part when rendering, so it doesnt bother you with muchos polys in the workspace. :)

Sweet and very nice :) Congrats on your skills ;)
my critts: I don't like the wheel being in the way of view, if its a battle viehicle it will be shot at and will suffer damage, so the view depends on computers right? by cameras? what if in battle those get shot off? or computers malfunction? the view is screw and the viehicle is a death trap and a sitting duck.
my sugestions: What if you were to take out the middle threads of the wheel, but keep the outer rim wheels but the two outer rims are held by bars. still when the viehicle moves quickly, u can still see through the wheel :) whata think? too much work? or you can do it? hehe
again Nice modeling! keep it up!

I would find it awesome if there were no stabilizer tracks, and this thing just went crazy fast to support itself, and if every need to stop, little stabilizers would shoot out of the bottom, but with the stabilizer tracks right now, it just looks like a slow poke.
however, insanely awesome modeling! keep it up!
(also, did you say what package your using for this?)
Cheers,

I'm speechless!
Just one suggestion, don't you think that maybe the tank things on the sides are maybe too big to actually work?
