View Full Version : nCloth and fire
spiralof5 01-15-2008, 05:13 PM I understand the basics of ncloth. I'm just wondering if a really good looking fire is possible with a fabric. would I use a plane with a constraint in the middle having the wind blow upwards? Can I constrain some of he points to a sphere and have the cloth pull around it? Am I in the right ballpark of thinking here?
Thank You,
Scott

It makes sense, as this is how a lot of stage fire props are created.
Here's a quick example. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoEQ8VfZH1I)
In 3d, you have the benifit of being able to add glow to the surface.
Good luck, and be sure to post your results!
