Hi all this is another project I am working on other than my knight http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=56846&goto=newpost
he is a small boy, here is all that I have done for now.
I am kind of happy with it but there is somthing lacking. Ignore the textures and the top of his head (there will be hair one day)
Any sugestions are very welcome

yes it could come out quite nice. I think it is heading in the direction of an old man though. (just a thought)

Yeah its coming along very nicely but like Cam i am seeing it more like an old man though. The only way i can see that its the way the modeling of the face and the side the way it curve abrutly maybe? On the drawing its looking like a small boy. make the feature less pronouces?

I'm sorry, but when I saw your image it reminded me of an alien or an evil puppet doll.

I think the profile of the face is much too flat.

I think his cheeks curve in to much giving it an older person appearance. But hair and stuff can always make faces look different.

Hey thanks all for the tips.
here is what I have done, well the hair helped heaps (still working on that as well). I adjusted the jaw line, made his cheeks fuller and made the eyes less sunken on the eyelids and smothed out the forehead a bit...
waddaya think?

well... I've just consulted my large database of pictures of little boys and think i can answer your concerns.

He neither looks like an old man or a young boy... he looks like one of those kids who ages too fast.

what i reckon: the face is too flat. he needs eyelids - the eyes are haunting . the ears are a little small.. maybe not enough forehead.

otherwise coming along nicely... oh, and i don't know about the fringe.

sorry if i seem too critical... but the truth hurts sometimes.

p.s. hello matt

i like this fellow = :buttrock:
this one seems a little rude = :airguitar

Hey all, thanks for the replies,
I have been working on the kid a bit. But found myself concentrating on the scenery that the kid is going to go in to. They are big enough for the kid to crawl into the mouth.
Oh, ignore the sky and sand quality and textures they are just stand-ins till I am happy with the heads.
Any C&C welcome

Just thought you might like to know they are based on these...
http://www.snowtrooper.com/matty/3D_gubbings/bubble/Clowns.jpg

They are a cross between these (Famous here in NZ... not so sure about the rest of the world) and the gates from Lunar Park in Austrailia,
I used my creative licence, and a pinch of evil...

For some reason this looks a little disturbing:curious:

Very Creepy. I'd suggest attention to the lighting and the kid crawling into the clowns head would be cool....Creepy ...but cool.

Interesting..

The kid seems like he has no character in the face.. His face seems too flat. I suggest to try exaggerating certain features that would match his character for animation purposes..

The environment layout is bizar and curious.. I imagine him to be totally opposite of the environment and the story reflecting his position to 'fit in' to his surroundings.

He looks really freaky. I like it

I think the eyes come out of the head alittle bit too much.

Hey matty dude...

Showed my brother the alien boy.

as people are like that anyway.
