CGTalk - selection question

First of all, I just got C4D (after trying demos of similar programs) and have to say I *love* it.

Anyway, I have a basic question about selecting points. Working from the "top" view I want to select two points on a cube: the point I can see and the point directly beneath it. It's inconvenient to switch back to perspective to get both points selected -- is there a way to stay in top view and select both points?

drum rollllll.

look for select active elements in.....

the active tool manager.

just remeber kiddies you always need to be using the little selecter thingy not your scale or rotate or move tool.
