View Full Version : physique: larger influence tic's
tmcguire 04-26-2003, 12:18 AM So, does anyone have a script or know of any way to enlarge the physique vertex tick's when assigining them to bones? I can hardly see them.
This screenshot is 1:1 and you can see that they are barely visible.
I tried messing around with vertex settings but these don't seem to have any effect on the verticies while in the Phisique modifier.
Any help would be great!
Thanks

No hits likely means it is not possible...
What about changing the display [TAB] option to object color and making the object grey or whatever shows up best?
BTW - Locking assignments will put boxes around the locked verts.

yeah i don't think its possible. you realize ther is an option to shade verticies in the envelope subobjest? that should help somewhat.

LS3d - Locking them does help a little. Also..I pretty sure I still have 20/20 vision. I considered that too. :) I played around with the colors some but it still sucks.
An interesting thing is that if I make my display resolution smaller like 1024X768 they do get bigger. But who wan'ts to work in Max at that res?
Pencil head - I'm not using envelopes. As lame as it may sound. Our engine doesn't support them. We have to freeking manually assign all verts to bones by hand and then blend them with the "Type-in Weights." But when you say shade them you mean make them all pretty colors?
Although, until now it never occured to me if I could use envelopes and somehow convert them to a usable format. I guess I'll try that tomorrow.

Can't you just choose no blending between links (upon attach to biped) and use rigid envelopes?

no. in the "envelope" sub object, scroll all the way to the very bottom, there is a button that says "shaded". it shades the surface of the model by the vertex colour or weight.

Darn..i was really hoping that our exporter and engine people would say 'yes' envelopes work. No go..darn.
Good side note..shading the envelope in the physique sub object does help with selection if i turn on shaded mode and work out of wireframe mode.
Oh well...
And what about making your object grey and using blues and greens as your vert colors? You will need to view object colors in shaded under viewport tab (not sure you got this first time I suggested it).
