View Full Version : Multiple Camera rendering
DarkstaR1st 01-14-2008, 02:31 PM Hey Guys,
I've got a question. I have built 1 comp with 10 cameras. And i need to render out all those cameras at once. I don't want to make 10 copies of the file and select a different camera and output for each cam.
These camera's are all on the same timeline space.
Is it possible to script this or is there another suggestion.
Thanks,
Dennis Teusink

Nope, can't do. No matter how you twist an turn it and whatever technique you use, you will have to render your composition 10 times.

Just to verify if you and i understood each other.
It is not possible to script different outputs for each camera? Or even setup different outputs for each camera in 1 file?
I know that it needs to render each frame 10 times for all the camera's.
I am not trying to find a way to render faster. I'm going for error management. If you need to set every output and camera by hand it is prone to error.

No. The render queue is a reference to the composition, not a duplicate of the comp itself. If you change the camera in the comp, the render queue will reflect it. You cannot have 10 entries on the RQ based on the same comp and hope to render 10 different cameras. You will have to physically duplicate the comps in the project window. Other than that some automation is certainly possible, but the benefits would be minor compared to either
a) duplicating the comp a bunch of times
or
b) toggling the visibility of the camera (if the comp is set to "Active Camera", only the visible one will be used)
I know it's inconvenient, but it cannot be helped.

Thank you very much...!!
too bad that it can't be done. I have searched for scripted rendereing and didn't find any.. Thought it would be a problem. Never hurts to ask. Maybe someone was very clever. :D
Again, thanks.
