I realize the artist's name (Jeremy Vickery) is mentioned here in this thread, but it's not in the actual interview that I can find. Just sayin'.

When Jeremy Vickery worked at Pixar, he was known as "Jermilex" (which was his e-mail address here, and still is the name of his personal website, www.jermilex.com). It did get a bit confusing when we shared an office, though...

So, he doesn't work at Pixar any longer? It doesn't mention that in the article. His information on schools combined with the current learning tools is what I've been harping on for years.....but I digress. Great read!

I assume the article was done or published before he left, he only went a few months ago. Jeremy is great artist and a really nice guy, his work at Pixar was fantastic and I highly recommend picking up his DVD.

Jeremy actually taught a night class on advanced modelling at my college in Atlanta back around 2002/2003. He was a great guy. I wasn't actually IN his class, but me and several other guys often sat in on his classes just to soak up information. He was cool because he often stayed late after his class, sometimes for an hour or more on HIS time just to show us cool lighting/texturing tips and answer our noob questions.
Its funny that back then he was working at Fathom Studios in Atlanta basically putting the finishing touches on the lighting and rendering effects in Delgo and here it is going on 6 years later and now 3 Pixar movies he's worked on are out and on DVD and Delgo has still yet to see the light of day. Okay, maybe more sad than funny. But anyway, in the little time I knew him I was very impressed by his talent and generosity. Jeremy's an awesome guy who greatly deserves all of his success.
