New face for Maya...

Is it legal to replace your Mayares.dll with this? I really like the looks of it.

I've heard others say it's not legal to alter the dll for the start up screen, so that's why I ask. Am I actually to believe that AW doesn't allow someone to change dlls inorder to change the interface, but does allow changing mels to change the interface? So what's the truth?

I don't think they're going to be bothered as long as you don't distribute it...

I'd think it's the same as modifying MEL scripts or anything else about Maya. Do what you like but if you've modified any code and then it screws your system, don't blame it on A|W.

yeah I do it all the time.. same with 3dsmax, I like to put a nice insulting message on that splash when I have to go from Maya to Max.. its not illegal ! its yours so you can do what you want with it. All you need is a program which reads the .dll I got one called Resource Hacker which does it just fine! :D

The Maya one is better. Who would want anything to intentionally look like XP other than MS? YuK!:thumbsdow
