...forum search isn't working for me right now, weird.
Ok, I've been looking at the pipeline from blender to maya for the last few days. things work, but not quite ideally...
OBJ works nicely, but the format is limited to one uv set.... would be better if it had a scale option as well as a rotate, but i guess it's easy enough to scale the model before export...
Collada works nicely but again only one uv set right now and no rotate/scale
definately one to keep an eye on.
fbx on paper is ideal for my needs as it supports multi uvs, scale and rotate....
...unfortunately Maya doesn't seem to get the textures (on the wiki this is untested with Maya) and without an importer it's hard to test that the output is correct.
also when I export my whole model rather than a simple text case Maya fataly crashes on me everytime. I've tried changing options for both export in blender and import in maya, all to no avail....
Luckily none of the above is a showstopper for my project, but it's a shame I'll probably have to create lightmap uvs in maya (or learn mel script and try and automate the uv copying between objects as well as scripting blender to switch the active uv sets over on my scene .... doing it by hand will be too prohibitive as there are far too many objects in this project!
I guess I'll have to try the maya forums too.
