i heard when rendering out into jpgs, maya uses
the default compression quality of 75% ...
i also heard there is a way to enable it to render
out jpgs at 100% quality ....so theres less artifacts

i know targas are the standard but i hate their
huge file size :\

anyone know about this and how i would go about
changing it to 100% ?

somewhere in the .mel prefs I would assume...
someone else prolly will post the exact spot, or you could search the boards for jpg quality, maybe it'll turn something up.
Cheers,

All you need to do is add the line:

AW_JPEG_Q_FACTOR = 100;

to your Maya.env file found at:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\maya\4.5\Maya.env

Well, that's where it is on my computer anyway!

:thumbsup:
