Wow!, good model so far.

The texture repeats...I know, you probally have not started on it yet.

For the model, could you post the image as grayscale with 3 point lighting as one image and the same gray scale as wire? Doing this helps alot of people focus on the model more, when looking for errors.

Once you have completed the model part maybe 3 angles of the model once you get ready to texture would be good too.

The textures are just prodecuar maps at the moment.Its easier to imagine how the whole think will look when it's finished^,^

I think some more depth (not detail, just more shape) in the areas circled would make already great model better.

Hey, its ok about the Appleseed...like my old boss always said........... No man is an island!

Also I know it is not the final texture but that one "max rust map" tiled is killing the detail and depth.
Not trying to insult or mightier than thou crap, but if you look at the wire there is alot of detail in it.

For your renders do a fake GI look with some lights and shadows, so we can notice the creavesses and depth.

What version of Max are you using? and are you loading the v5 script for version 5?

just a thought

since he's all rusted and looks a bit worn down, maybe you could chang one of his arms or legs like it has modified or upgrade by someone. it will help it look less symetrical too.

like i said, just a thought;)

Model is cool! But the textures are to dull and makke your creature less interesting! make it more shiny or put more coloured detail to the textures.... :shrug:
