Hi i was workin on some volumetric effects for my project , i need to create a thin fog environment in the background and some mist (puffy/wispy smoke) looming about in the foreground.
as for the fog ive tried the volume primitive, simple fog, n also used env fog/vol fog materials in a spotlight, i got satisfactory results with all, what wud u recommend? i need fast render times.
as for mist, i tried using some paintfx but not satisfied at all...dunno what to do, also fluids is too heavy....so i badly need some help thanx in advance.

Anything volumetric is going to take a while to render. Have you tried using a cloud-type particle system and having a play around with the settings? Dynamics>Effects>Create Smoke... should be a good place to start
