in the object manager select your camera and add an "align to spline expression" click the expression tag and look in it's attributes, select the tag properties section and drag your spline from the object manager into the "spline path" box.
to make the camera move along the spline open the timeline manager and drag the "align to spline expression" onto the timeline select the tag and add
a new track, choose "position" from the parameter menu add a key at frame 0 and another at say, frame 75. select that key and in its attributes set the value to 100%, this causes the camera to travel along the full length of the spline. (you can also adjust it by expanding the position path and moving the marker up and down, or in the f-curve manager).
this is quite a long winded way of doing this so hopefully someone will tell me i'm doing it the wrong way and there is infact a way of doing it in half the time:thumbsup:
I think you should be able to key the value directly with out muching aroundin the timeline. after all pretty much everything is keyframe able.

Maybe it's not the same, I don't know ...
Anyway I follow these steps:
1 - create a spline
2 - make it editable
3 - in the timeline select your camera and choose OBJECTS / Spline to position track

is it just me or does this just create xyz positions for the camera that roughly match the shape of the spline?

yes, i think i tried that out, and it does only look like it is following the rough xyz plane of the path. What i am wanting it to accomplish, is it actually movie along it like an *horrible example comming up* like a caterpillar crawling across a limb on a tree. (only one i could come up with at the moment. I have yet to try your method gareth, i will get right on it!
