Greetings all, I'm glad I found this forum. Great source of information and inspiration. Fairly new to C4D and I've two questions:

1. Instances always seem to leave behind "dot's at the axis center (see attached, the diagonal pattern at the bottom of the image) and I would love to find a way to turn this off. After several duplicates, this begins to get distracting. Is this an option that can be turned off or just the nature of the beast?

2. Is there a way to duplicate objects via command keys? In Strata you can simply hold down the option key and drag an object to create a copy. I really miss this feature in Cinema.

Thanks folks,

Chris

1) the dots are a representation of a null...the nulls are probably there from when you made the instances from the duplicate tool as it puts the instances in a null object.

if you have R8 then just go to display filter on the top toolbar and uncheck null.

2) yeah you can assign shortcuts to key via window - layout - command manager.

hope this helps..and welcome to cgtalk.

I love this forum, I am having the same thing happen and it's been buggin the crap out of me. I didn't know what they were, I was thinking that they were stray points or something but I was never able to select/delete them. Thanks! -- dano

Thanks flingster, I guess I better start digging under the cushions for that upgrade money, still in 7 here. Good idea about setting a custom command key, obviously hadn't thought of that (whaps self upside head).
