I think I worked with this for about five hours. Playing with shadows and highlights took most of the time. The original plan was to position the character on the left hand side so there would be room for the view. However I ended up to an opposite solution, because it adds more drama to the painting. I also wanted to give more space for darkness. Painted in Photoshop with tablet.
