This should have been something else, but ended up as a sort of exaggerated, simplified study. Pensil work was about an hour with a few minutes of Photoshop tinkering afterwards.

Nice sketch merskum, way to bring out the form with the hatches. Here's another attempt at photoshop-only sketching. Aquarius really doesn't have much...but this is the water bringer

About an hour

Chinese Zodiacs count too, right? o.o

30 mins in Photoshop Elements 2.0 + 5 to fix the text and twiddly bits.

I wasn't going to do this sketch but then Pheonee's comment triggered an idea and I had to run with it even though it's kinda goofy looking. Thanks!

Photoshop, Illustrator, Pencils, and Papers.
Just barely 60 min. But if looking for references counts as part of the sketch time, then I went over by ten.

Hi, i think i messed it up. That was the first time i actually was under time pressure. Got pretty hasty when i realized that the sixty minutes were running out, but i did it in time.
It's pencil and paper.

I really like this work from you.

Would you like to share a little information in how you created this image? How did you hold the paper and pencil? What type of pencils did you use? How big is the paper where you painted it on?

I am right on the line with Cancer and Leo. Depending on what chart you look at, sometimes I'm Cancer but most of the time I'm Leo (July 23).

PS CS2 - 40 min.

Hey thanks buddy!

There really isn't much to say about the technical aspect - it's just a standard everyday pensil and a regular piece of A4 printing paper. I don't hold the pensil in any particular fasion but just used some of the hatching techniques I learnt while studying classical drawing like Leonardo da Vinci's. You just have to get the feeling that you draw on top of a three dimensional form and the lines flow with the "perspective". I can be done much better than I did here.

This (http://tegnebordet.dk//tegninger/28811/cache/h550-1174295279.jpg) is perhaps a better example, a portrait I did a year ago or so. It took eight hours or something so more love went into the lines.

Daniel, you did a great job on yours, tough subject, although i am suprised it took you so long? I've seen your speed painting thread and you usually whip through them pieces like lightning!

Rabid 1, thanks for the good word :) Yeah, now that I look at it again, I can't believe that took me 3 hrs. I did it over the weekend though, and with the free time, I tend to dink around a lot more. Most of my speed paintings are done at work at the end of the day, so I'm eager to wrap things up and get outta there. By the way, great work fellow Aquarian
