I also check out www.Bd4d.com daily because some cool links are posted there daily.

The also have a featured movie and this time it's this:

I'm wondering how they made this... Especially the Train-map. I also want to make stuff like this (which is seen all the time in Snowboard movies and showreels). Can someone please tells me which application to use for this (and where I can find tutorials on how to create this)

You could make a video like that with any number of tools.

Final Cut Pro or Avid for the editing.
Combustion or Aftereffects for the composites and visual effects.
Photoshop for the subway layers.

There are many tools and ways to work it's all up to your imagination and your pocket book.
