Hi All,

Whenever I use the miss_fast_skin_maya shader I always end up having to paint a weight map to prevent the Back scattering appearing in the front. Using a weight map is fine but no good if I want to animate the light etc. The scene currently contains a directional front light at the top left and a directional back light at the bottom right. The attached image has been rendered out with no shadows or raytracing as I was just blocking out the skin shader.

I've messed around with the back scatter values with no success at all so there must be something wrong with the model or my settings. Can anyone give me some pointers on where I might be going wrong.

Thanks in advance & Regards

I'm not very skilled with sss, but have you tried enabling shadow casting on you backlight ?
Cause i'm guessing your problem is situated around the lips and eyes, mainly. And it seems to me that's a self-shadow-casting problem
