Hi guys,

I'm trying to use the simple technique of making hair. Which is making simple planes with tranparency map. I'm using Maya and Photoshop doing this. When I rendered the image, I could see the plane shadow(which is tranparent) casting to the body. You'll get what I mean if you look at the image. My problem is, how to get rid of the shadow of the tranparency part? I'm sure this is a noob question, but I HOPE SOMEBODY CAN HELP!!

Thanks in advance!

set the shadow option to raytrace shadow and enable raytrace option in render settings

u can use remap value for the alpha map, connect it to the input value of the remap value and make the ramp white colour value to 2.then connect it to the transparency of the shader. u will get the exact shadow.

on the hair material, try setting Shadow Attenuation to zero.
