Title: Summer's End
Name: Delia Barrio
Country: United States
Software: Photoshop

Decided to take advantage of my boyfriend's huge monitor and his copy of CS3. :) This is my character Mason and his pet chicken, Uma Thurman, hangin' out in a wheat field.

Wheat is composed of custom PS brushes I drew just for this pic, background is a mixture of OpenCanvas painting and PhotoShop painting/smudging. Mason and Uma sketched, inked, and soft cell shaded in Photoshop.

Let me know what you think! Any comments, tips, and/or crits are very welcome. Thank you~

A chick(en) called Uma Thurman - awesome! :scream:

Very nice atmosphere! I love the environment - the field looks just like I wanna jump in, lay down and not believing the summers has gone...

It looks like he is complete happy with his life and how he has it, dosn't want to change a thing! Like he got what he wanted out of life, he dosn't need to prove anything. He Love Life!

i LOVE the atmosphere in there as i said :)

tho i am no fan of cartoons i love it! :D

Thanks for the responses, guys. It's much appreciated. :)

I worked especially hard on the background and using it as an emotional aspect, not just relying on the character to convey what the picture is about, and I'm especially glad to see that it seems to have worked out alright! I'm still new to full CG backgrounds, but I'm slowly finding a love for drawing/painting them. X3
