View Full Version : Proximal water displacement tut?
I recently found it in english but apparently I didn't bookmark it.
It wasn't so much a tutorial but more a pic of the settings he used for the emmiter. Does anybody know what I'm talking about...?
A link would be brilliant...!

Hi !
Is it this page maby ?
http://www.creativecow.net/articles/simpson_mark/waterdrop/
sweet man I didnt know this was there. I have been looking for a good proximal tutorial for a long time.
Jeremy W is kinda tight fisted with his secrets.
Majorly sweet..! Truly excelent, although the one I meant was where he has a sphere move through the water (like a boat) and have an emmiter create the ripling displacement behind it.
But now I've read this one I can achive that same thing with a cone (or some) also.
Thanks again, great tutorial... :airguitar

no worrys if you get it working how about posting your results id like to see a full tute on that exact effect. good luck
Mike.
yeah I have messed aroundwith jeremey w's water thing for a long long time and I can't get it to ever work well.
if you figureit out be sure to make a tutorial for us ignorant folks. :)
The result of the first tutorial (with some of my own touches :)) is indeed a beautifully animated ripple effect but I want the ripple to fade over time.
So I want to have the strenth of the proximal fall down to zero eventually but apparantly the material's parameters aren't taken into acount when keyframing with Parameters.
Is there any way to animate a materials parameters? (meaby in R8?)
I've attached a pic just for fun...
yeah unfortunately Maxon did not update SLA with C4D R8.
but one way you might be able to do it would be to make seperate objects and blend them together externally.
i.e large small tiny.
Don't know if it would work its just an idea.
