View Full Version : Passing per particle attribute to instanced geometry

I think I already know the answer to this, but I wanted to be sure. I've got a fairly effective and elegant particle solution for schooling fish, as well as fish rigs which use a sin wave to fluidly vary the rate of speed at which they swim. The question I have is whether there is any way for instanced geometry / rigs to pull the velocity value out of their host particle? Similar discussions on this forum have lead me to believe that this is not possible, and the closest you can come to it is by writing an expression which varies the instancer's objectID at velocity X, and then just instancing in a bunch of different rigs of the same fish swimming at different speeds.

Would really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
