Title: Classic interior
Name: Neil Griffiths
Country: United Kingdom
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay

Had a couple of days spare and dont get much chance to do internals, so... here it is I guess. Open for any kind of critique, if a bit of it doesnt work for you I want to hear it!

I used 3dsmax/vray, bit of PS for levels/subtle glows.

This is good.
It has none of the real classic interior elements you see so much of.
Like insane amounts of glass and washed out white light.

Looks like a real room, that a real person lives in.

Only crit is the chairs. They're done well, but look out of place. They look like lawn chairs.

Nice work.
I recreated that interior too. Actually, I think someone else did and posted it here a while ago.
Ligne Roset brochures are great for interior design inspiration as they're always contemporary and really well done.

Haha, i'd like to see these. I was wondering how long it'd take before someone recognised the inspiration. They are the best internal reference sources ive ever seen, its just a shame I dont ever get to use them.

shkumbinferizi - I know it looks ridiculous, but I actually have a wine glass around that size. Its perfect for when you want to get comfy, drink a lot and also not move much, haha. Although it does look very odd - I do agree with you.

prabodha - nothing fancy, IRmap, LC, reinhard mapping, physical sun/sky, DMC AA set to 1,10

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

Nice render overall...

Few things which are off (IMO):

Wine glass (regardless if you have one or not) stands out a lot, so from the compositional point of view, it needs to be smaller.

Chairs are bigger then they should be as well. From the compositional point, again, chair on the left is disrupting the flow of the image, I would try to render image without it...

Shoes (if that is what they are) are too dark and it would be better if they were brought up into lighter area of the floor.

Radiator should be just a little bit smaller as well.

I like the entertaiment center and the lamp a lot. Some very nice modeling going on in your project.

Cheers :)

This is a really good piece of work. Nice lighting, modelling and composition.

The few bits of clutter really work to make the scene feel lived in.

It feels like you are using a slight DOF to blur the foreground?

IMO There maybe a few scale issuse concerning the wine glass and the parquet flooring but I dont really find this distracting at all.

Overall a great image.
