View Full Version : [WIP] Crazed Widow

This is a character I just started working on that I plan to put into my demo reel. She is, like the title says, a crazed widow, who still is wearing her wedding dress and holds a revolver at her side.
Below are all the images I am using for reference or will be using, along with what I have so far for her head. I am going to be starting the body soon, but I want to concept/decide on the dress I want her to wear yet. It's going to be a gothic type dress, black with red.
Comments/Crits are very welcome.
P.S. - The teeth and eye textures are temp. for now, I just made them quick to see how it looked.

Not sure if anyone will look, but here is an update. I would really like crits, because I am having a hard time getting the eye sockets right... the lips are also somewhat of an issue.
Here is an updated wireframe too...

Not bad so far, but what you really need is a smoother, more natural transition. At the moment the model looks good from front and side view, but if you look at it in perspective view you can see that the head looks like a cube especially in the area around the face/cheek. If you look at the head from the top you will see what I mean :)
The face is too flat at the moment. I think if you fix this it will help a lot to make it look more natural.
I agree with PolyPilot, also cheeks and nose are too inflat, not a type of woman face, take really care with eye duts, they seem a bit messed. Try to increase the fronthead too, but its comming good, keep going.

Thank you for taking the time to post. I had been making some adjustments before I read your comments, and fixed some of the things you said. I am still working on it now, trying to get a better likeness and shape, but I will post again later. I also setup my ref images for the body, and will probably be starting that today or tomorrow.
As always, comments/crits/paint overs are welcome/appreciated.

I started on the body, but didn't do the hands yet obviously. I still am working on what I want the dress to look like, so I didn't continue to model that yet.
Comments/crits/paintovers or w/e are very welcome.
Edit: I am not sure if I should do tri's, or quads for the breasts?

Well no one seems to reply, but oh well. Here is a kind of big update. I still need to do quite a bit of work, but she's coming along now finally.
Anyways, here are the newer 3/4 shots, front close up, and then finally my kind of final vision of her when I'm done. I am still working on the final design, but I need to sleep now... so i will post later on well... today lol, what I have.
Oh, and the skin and all that stuff is temp obviously. Also, I have to tweak the mesh and prob. reduce the polycount as much as I could. Right now its like 3200 ish including legs underneath, but no shoes yet.

Ok, well this is quite a bit further along now from the last wip image. I have her unwrapped, normal mapped, and started playing around with colors for the diffuse. I have an issue with seams on her shoulders though... not sure how I am going to fix those yet.
The eye brows and well really the texture is kinda blah right now, but it gives somewhat of an idea where I am going.
I really need to do her hair, will probably do that next, she looks like a cancer patient right now.

Hi, sorry for jumping in so late. The model is coming along nicely, my only comment would be that her shoulders are maybe a touch too broad?
As for the shoulder seams, how did you create the normal maps?
