Title: Livingroom
Name: Raphael Rau
Country: Germany
Software: CINEMA 4D, Photoshop, VRay
Hi
This is my newest work.
A livingroom made with Cinema 4D and the new V-RAY
C4D Bridge witch is absolutely great. I rendered high res
2048 X 1365 px image in 4:30 H with high GI settings.
The ammount of glass in this scene was the main reason
for this "long" rendertime.
I tried to bring a lot of detail into this image what makes it
more realistic.
I hope you like my new work. Comments are most welcome.
Thanks

Very nice and very realistic! All the glass and the reflections are GREAT! :D The only thing thts strange is the shader for the chairs, maybe some higher settings for them. Ive bin trying the vrayforc4d a while now but i have not come as far as you! INSPIRING!
Fantastic works as always silverwing!
Those glass looks great and likes the lighting.
Another sterile room rendering...
It's not bad, don't get me wrong.
But it looks like every other living room render.
Widescreen TV, LOTS OF GLASS, marble room dividers, washed out white light etc..
Straight out of a Kohls catalog, with no trace of life evident.
If that's what you were going for, you've got it.

hey i do agree that some of these "steril" works are not good, but this one has some very realistic touches to it, which makes it look kinda more realistic,after all whats wrong with the "magazine type of look? of course there is room for improvement, but overall I like it, specially nice use of glass.

I really think that is an awesome work of how a nice room should be done. I mean, a lot of people do architectural pictures, but this one has a very good lighting and reflects. I´ve taken a look to your website, and you have some impressive works!

Hey... thank you all for your kind words!
@arkiku:
Thanks a lot... yeah maybe the chairs shader is
not that good... but it is ok I think!
@jigu:
Thank you! I like the glass too.
@Dtox:
Ya you are absolutely right. Its like every other
livingroom render... But thats what I wanted to
acciefe. Maybe i could have done the lighting
a little more pointed and less washed out.
But the result as out of an cataloque is ok for me!
@Cutiplast:
Thanks... nce hearing from you here @ CG-Talk
V-Ray isn´t cheap but it pays of!

This kind of superb renders r the motivation of beginners like us...wow brother this is an awesome work of yours...we allways waiting for ur new work..excellent.. :thumbsup:
hey i do agree that some of these "steril" works are not good, but this one has some very realistic touches to it Most do have something of redeemable value, otherwise they would be intolerable.
I'm of the mindset that the way a room is setup, talks about the person who lives in it.
I understand this is not an actual room that the creator dwells in, it's merely a rendering.
So what it says to me is that most of its elements are there to display either a lighting scheme or a modeling achievement.
With this being a Vray image, it's meant to show the lighting quality possible with Vray.
Which makes sense if the point is to show what Vray can do.
What I wonder is why is that the point?
Is the creator somehow affiliated with Vray?
I always thought that software like Vray serves the purpose of adding realistic light simulation to an artists work, not to dictate the work itself.
The creator of this image was testing Vrays capabilities, I understand that.
I'm not saying he's wrong for doing this.
All I'm saying is that we know what Vray can do.
Show us what YOU can do with Vray!
