Hi,
you've got to squash and stretch it.
This is the first rule of animation. You'll ever need this.

Understood?

Hi!
It's a good decision to go to AM! I'm envy you cos I don't have nough money to get there..
Well first thing first, stay away from any 3D program, master your animation skill by doing it by hand. Draw draw and more draw.. when you get grasp on it, then move on to 3D just simply by implementing what you know to the computer.
Learn from book and internet, there are many good sources you can learn from.

On your bouncing ball, yes, you need some squash n stretch. although this is depend on certain condition, from your learning purposes, I think you have to implement this. And also watch closely to the arc of its movement. On the timing, maybe some little fix in here n there, when you make practice on it, you'll know whats work and whats not.

Well, so far that's all I can tell, if you need any suggestion or help, feel free to give me a shoot (PM).. :)

Good luck mate!
Keep animating n keep practice!
Cheers!

I've tried to do a character ball animation....
i had 2 ideas...the first one i did a rough thing in 2D to get an idea but didn't move to 3D....then I thought of something else and did that in 3D...
C&C needed.....

rdsarna, why is the 2d one .exe? I don't know if I'd trust to download that. :p.

Anyway, your last 3D animatic is cute! There were a few moments I was not sure of the ball's intention, but overall it works well. When the small one lands on the other side, make sure you have a squash there as well.

Also, I like your "shaking" anticipation. ;)

It works a lot better now and it really looks like the balls are living, very nice.
