View Full Version : WIP: Head and Toon-dog
Hi pals,
This head is my first head with polygon modeling.
http://www.turx.com/wip/head1/sacli_yandan.jpg
info about this head and also some renders includes a wire-shot at:
http://www.turx.com/wip/head1/
I'm working on his ears. After that some tweaking on model and texture.
Then I will start my second head
And this is my first toon character :bounce:
It's poly by poly too.
I've started to model this toon 3 hours ago and it's nice to make something looks like a dog :p
And this dog needs 4 legs now. I'll model them tomorrow and try to rig it with help of some tutorials :)

push the edges of the lips back... work on the bone structure around the cheeks. add a specular and a diffuse map to avoid the light "burn". You're model should also be eating pancakes.
I like pancakes.
Thanks for the tips. I'll use them :)
But the "burn" feeling is not about lights. I just played with some layer properties on photoshop. The burn feeling is because of Color Dodge.
The texture doesn't look as it fit to model. I have to work on it.

I really like these models. I especially like the dog. I think the eyes of the dog need to be closer together, more like the illustration.

excellent work, if these really are your first attempts at such peices using polygon modelling, then this really is first rate. keep working at them, i'll definitely be keeping an eye on this.

I think Mike had a good suggestion in putting the eyes closer together. You should do that. ;) dano

Hey Mike and Dano, I put them closer now(at first picture below). Does it look well, or do you suggest to put them closer than this?

oops.. i forgot them
I've never watch this dog on TV but it looks pretty to me after i modelled it :)
Actually my favorite comic-dog is Snoopy :p
He is cooler than this dog :)
At second picture i didn't finish the environment yet. But i have some ideas about making a short clip with such an environment so i quickly put them together. But firstly i have to learn how to rig this guy :D

looking good... I'd like to see some spots that are harder edged -- more of a graphic feel to go with the toon style:)
I tweaked the head before making its ears.
I'm still learning the topology of human head so some part may be wrong.
