Thank you friends for your replies.
I'm glad that you like it :)
@abdelouahabb:
I made this image with 3ds max,vray and photoshop.
@LAV:
You can achieve the same affect using different techniques:
One of them by using 3ds max particle flow:
http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tutorials/max/pflow_splines/index.html
But this tutorial needs Particle Flow ToolBox purchase which is out of my budget now :)
Myself I make it with Guruware Ivy plugin :
http://guruware.at/main/index.html
The other parts are bunch of splines.
Keep in mind that you need a lot of patient and you may end up with very very high poly count :)

Congratulations on getting third place!
My only concern is that I thought the competiton was about things that looked obviousely CG and couldn't exist in real-life...where as this looks realistic and perfectly doable in real-life. It looks great but I didn't think it would have matched the criteria for this.

@iSOBigD
Thank you iSOBigD
If you look to inspiration page you should find model of car and some metal sculptures which can exist in real life also:
http://events.cgsociety.org/NVArt/01/inspiration.php
The inspiration page is our starting point for the competition.

@MrCamper :
Thank you
I've convert all parts separately to vrayproxeis and merge them in one scene. The vrayproxeis are lightweight and can be loaded dynamically in rendering time. The all parts giving total about 2,000,000 poleis without using vrayproxeis.
@newmain:
Thank you newmain very much
@alienpioneer:
Thank you alienpioneer very much. Some ideas may be overlaped with others but everyone can give it another dimension of imagination.
Fractals are common between digital artist but some winning images here give it unique look.
