I was wondering how animators set about timing their animations at different frame rates.I bought the Animator's Survival Kit recently. And I prefer working at 24 fps whenever I follow the lessons in the book.It is quite easy to set frames for 3/4 second,1/2 second, 1/4second, 1/6 second etc etc....I wonder how traditional character animators or people who are used to animating at 24 fps( or 8 fps or 12 fps) adjust when they have to animate at 30 fps ot 25 fps...Say you're doing a walk cycle. You time the walk. And the passing position (let's say that it's a key pose) is 1/2 second from the contact position...at 30 it shouldn't be a problem but at 25fps...would you be placing the passing position at 12 or 13 depending on how good it looks in the end. Will it make a big difference..Should I just do my lessons with whatever fps I'm comfortable with and in time will get used to adjusting to 30 or 25 fps...or any other fps for that matter. And what about conversions between different frame rates...can you guys explain or provide a good link....
