Community greets. First post and also my first (nearly) complete 3d scene. CC needed. Created and rendered using MAX5. Title shown is not the real book title, I just thought the flowers looked kind of nippley. I'm trying to find my own style so realism isn't really too much of a factor. However I would especially like critique on my lighting. Do you think adding lens-flare would be too cliched? Thanks in advance. Everyone here posts such awesome work that it's humbling to even be posting here. :)

thats awesome! i love this :) i think lensflares would ruin this image tho.

I really like the crisp beauty and brightness of the image. I like your style and your use of cooler colors here. Really nice attention to detail on the flowers!

As for the lensflare. . .hmm. . .I don't think it would be too cliche, but why not throw one in and update the post? It would help you/us to better determine if it's out of place/cliche/unecessary.

By all means: KEEP IT COMIN'!!!! :bounce:

I like your idea about the childrens book cover. The only thing I would like to see personally is a simple background of hills just to establish it better. It seems the flowers are floating in space. Or if that was your idea to float them maybe they can look like there falling from the sky. I'm not sure. Just a thought.

It's a joke title and a concept render. In fact, the story hasn't been even started yet.

Thanks for the feedback on the hills. I had some originally and will experiment with them some more.

works for me,, I think it fits the childrens book theme of being simple and to the point. The lense flair might not be so bad,, reminds me of Shrek for some reason. =D
