Title: Dead City (long shot)
Name: Andrzej Majewski
Country: Poland
Software: CINEMA 4D, Photoshop, VRay, XSI
This is a part (only location) of bigger project (music clip) I'm working on.
modeling: XSI (except trees from XFROG), rendering: Cinema4D+vray, color correction: PS2
Textures were made from photos. I used 2 cameras: Canon 400d and Revueflex SD1
Rendered on Intel core2 duo 6600 @2.4 GHz + 2 GB RAM in 26 min. Over 4 000 000 triangles.
Any C&C are welcome.
Other shot (close-up of streetcar) you can find here:

really cool!
good moddeling, great render and nice textures!
just the 3rd house on the left with the side looking to the camera could use some more details!

It's realy nice to hear (or read) such positive comments.
Silverwing: your words are the quintessence of my music clip story. That's what it will be about - about life and about nature that always takes over.
Bubbaloo: Thanx! There are very, very, very good works in choice gallery and on the first page, but I'm very glad that you like my work.
Treboras: :) I just read your signature: There is always something to do ... Yes :) I know. Probably you're right, but it will be a short movie and this is only one location. 1 of 14... A lot of work. I think that nobody even see this house, becouse of camera movement, action, etc. Action in this location will last about 10, maybe 20 seconds.
p22dunbar: Dzięki! Thank You! :)

very nice, i see you are busy with animation but i think on the 2nd building on the left side the shadow is too strong if you spend just 10 min. more you'll get great image.

The excellent picture, nice light, materials and atmosphere - is done greater work
and, by the way, my favourite theme =)) What it is city? It would be desirable to learn more about this project...

Absolutely beautiful!
The textures and the random vegitation coming from the street cracks really sell the image!

hoogberg: I don't know if I understand you. 2nd building on the left or on the right? I was trying to lighten up this scene, but if started to lose dusty and over-burnt mood. I think that I would be able to say if it's good or wrong when I start do edit whole clip, because it must look good between previuos and next shot (or "take").
haveaniceday: The City? It is "Wrocław" or "Breslau". Specially for you:
51° 7'32.55"N 17° 3'6.63"E
this is the place where I took photos for textures. :) (you can look in goole maps)
It is very old, but rapidly growing up city. New buildings made from glass and metal and buildings like these in my scene are standing on the same street.
dude5487: thank you! Vegatation was the hardest challenge in this scene. Because of render time. I can't afford to waiting 2 hours for one, single frame, but on the other side there must be a lot of diffrent plants if it has to look good. I made it. :) 30 minutes it's a good render time for single frame.

no no you don't have to lighten up all the scene, i ment the buillding on the left just after the small street next to the tram, the side of the building with vines facing camera. you can do it in post in ps or any other editor.
anyway i like image very much, i wish you best of luck, cheers.

Oh, now I understand you. Yes, you're right. I can do it. I'm not sure if it will be good for action, which take place on main street. I don't want to show too much details in places where they are not needed - it can be a little bit distracting. But thank you, i'll check it out, maybe it's good idea.

I really like it. Sad to say it looks like some of the areas in my town. Just need to break up the ground a little with up lifted slabs from roots and cracks. The lighting is very good. The color seems a little to bight though. All and all I really like it. Keep it up.

edcorusa: I think that in every city you can find places like this. It's not sad.. It would be very boring with all pretty, new and shiny buildings.
Bertrandb: Thank you! :)
WoW,
Such a great mood..
No comments, except maybe the bloom effect , sure adds mood, but always flattens the image a bit ..and somewhat covers small details (infact it looks better on the street car close up , i think)
Can't wait to see the whole project !

I'm glad you like my work. Ending of this project will take some time -at least 6 month, I think (and I hope). But be sure I'll present it to you. :)
