Hi !
I use a dark windows UI (like Discreet systems, Lightroom etc), never had problems with cs1, cs2 etc, and now with cs3 all is messed, white texts on light gray background in dialogs, I can't read some options, I can't set my preferences as I can't read checkbox options, etc. And sorry, but working 10h a day on photoshop it is simply impossible to have so many white pixels in my face (I ever shift turned background to near black, yes). Photoshop CS3 doesn't respect windows standards and so don't take windows interface colors, but even worst it take text colors, so it give light grey texts on light grey background ...

So, how can I turn photoshop cs3 in dark, or using windows STANDARDS colors just like cs2 ??? Till I find a solution, I simply can't use CS3 http://www.adobeforums.com/Images/e/blue.gif

You can't. We've had the discussion here before and many agree that it's a huge annoyance.

Yeah, really a pita ! The funnier thing is that I've read Adobe done CS3 with some UI knowledge from macromedia being aquired, but dreamweaver cs3 respect this and cause no problem !!
I really hope there will be a cs3.1 soon, or at least cs4 will respect this, there is no way I can use cs3 and **** all my windows and all others softs I use !

Actually, for some reason even Illustrator CS3 has a slider in the preferences that lets you change the UI from from light to dark as you please... why Photoshop lacks this is beyond me.

i've posted this in the other thread on ps ui colourscheme, but anyway..
Even on Premiere pro that can use a customized ui, turned to dark, once you right click, the context menu is in applemac white bg black text...
is this sloppiness or what?
Half the adobe suite has custom ui and half only allows rigid b&w... beats me..

As well as After Effects shares the same feature.
Leaves the impression as if they live in two different worlds, although it's from Adobe ...

That's for sure one of the reasons why we still stick to Photoshop CS2
in our company.

anyway adobe "suite" has never been a suite. in photoshop you double click on the background to open a file, doesn't work in illustrator. alt/space etc for zoom is different also, some tools also, really strange for a "suite" lol
