Hey all,
After much frustration and downloading all sorts of drivers from all sorts of sites - and zero results - I'm pretty sure this solution should work for most of u since it worked for me after i tested every frickin driver out there and none worked till now!
I actually found some drivers that fixed my Radeon 8500 on WIn2k PERFECTLY with absolutely no bugs whatsoever

and Windows 2000 people scroll down and download the 6058 version file

Make sure u unistall the previous drivers completely through add/remove programs and then restart the machine and then in the crappy display that it restarts in load the new 6058 drivers and restart and presto - Unbelievable fast Maya workflow with no hassles whatsoever - super fast frickin everything and everything else(DVD playback!! ..havent checked 3D games but that should work perfect too) - works GREAT
It's a happy day for the RADEON 8500 USERS!
