View Full Version : Pluggins for OS X..?
bin23 04-23-2003, 04:24 PM I have downloaded a couple of pluggins for the Mac and have placed them in the appropriate folders but do not see them listed under the edit panel. I am running 0.98.08e and I have even tried to place the entire plugins folder into the application package.
Help,
I could really use it.

If these are Clacos' Slide and Tweak_S plugs they should appear in the Tools menu. If they're Kayos' they'll be somewhere in the file menu either export or render, but I think Kayos' plugs depend on the relevent renderer being installed (not sure about that)
Which plugs have you installed?
Are they the latest versions?
I haven't had any problems with the plugs appearing in the menus though Tweak_S crashes when I try to select it.

I tried installing the Clacos' pluggins and also downgraded Wings in the hope that I would get those options. Under the tools menu I can only see tweak, which I assume to be the Wings' standard.
Thanks,

I'll start by thanking BazC for his quick reply.
To install pluggins under Mac OS X:
1. Open the package content of Wings3D.
2. Drill down through the folder directories until you hit Lib
:Wings3D/Contents/Resources/lib and finally,
a folder with the name of the version of Wings3D your are running.
3. You will find a plugin folder, place your plugins in there.
Good Luck

Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
1. What is the package content of Wings3D?
The only thing that I've gotten in any
downloads is just the Wings3D application.
2. The directory path listed below does not
exist on my machine (OS 10.2.5)
3. The only other Wings3D file that I could find
is the prefs text file in the preferences folder.
So what am I missing or not doing right?
Thanks,
Les Sandelman

You, have to control click on the Wings icon and choose "show package contents", then follow the steps above.

Remeber that Clacos' pluggins only work with 0.98.04
BIN23
No, Slide and Tweak_S work with the latest version 0.98.08e, at least on Windows, I can't get Tweak_S to work on Mac but others have.

Well I got the plug-ins in the correct folder
but they don't seem to work in the application.
They are listed in the menu, but nothing happens. And I'm running 0.98.08e.
So...........

OK, make sure you have the latest build, it should be a combined download of Slide and Tweak_S in one package. The folder Clacos goes in the Wings Plugins folder ignore the other one it's the source code. If you do that it should work, I don't know how to troubleshoot this and Clacos doesn't seem to be around at the moment.
What happens when you select them? Does the toolbar change? Do you get a crashdump?

I have the latest build, 98.08e, and Slide and Tweak_S are working fine for me. I really miss Draw_loop, but I'll survive
It all works great in 98.04.
Thanks Baz

OK I got it now. I had the wrong versions in.
Now Tweak_s & Slide are working.
Many Thanks!,
Les Sandelman
Typical! Tweak_s crashes for me and I've just discovered Slide id only partially functional :o(
