"So everytime [Brad] would ask some of the Pixar CG modelers to model a design they tell him that 'it can't be done, its too complex, too hard to model'. When Brad goes out of the studio and tries to hire people that think outside the box, Pixar doesn't want to bring in outsiders, they want Brad to use the staff Pixar already has. The current Pixar staff doesn't want to help Brad's team create great new groundbreaking CG designs, THEY want to do it. THEY want in on Brad's team. I'm not saying its so bad that people just hate each other, but there definitely is some tension there behind closed doors."
Whats all that about, I though Pixar was a happy magical place

Well it must be like any other place to work for, there are good things and bad things, hopefully the good outweigh last night. Last year at SIGGRAPH I asw one or two Pixar guys wearing the black badge of the demise of Entropy and Exluna. Seemed to indicate at least a few were disgruntled by their own company's handling of the situation.
Man can't see that link, seems Slashdotted.

I wore one of those badges for a while too. Don't forget Larry was a friend and father of so many great ideas and we all missed him when he left and where sorry to hear about the law suit.
As for negative comments, well, i'm sure i can find more than just that f i dig hard enough. There are a lot of people here with diverse backgrounds and opinions. Just human nature. Mostly we have waaaay to much fun. Impromtu parties, congo lines, car shows, guest speakers, talent shows, ugly offs. When the last shot for Nemo wrapped the beer flowed and the day was a loss..... Now that's animation!!
As far as i know Pixar and Disney have a good relationship that had a bad (mostly in the press) moment. Looking into other relationships is just good business, but don't be surprised if the Disney relationship continues through to 'Cars' too.
The Incredibles is going to be an amazing show, i for one think it will be another TS. I have had a TON of fun on it. I wrapped on Nemo way back and have been going full bore on it for a while.
psumo, how the hell haven't you seen the trailer yet? Come on man!! About time you step away from your TD workstation and hit the Knife and Fiddle  :p

Agreed... Larry's contributions to the CG community should never ever be overlooked. He allowed a home user like myself put his hands on a renderman compliant renderer... I will always be thankful.

Sure.
Well, Disney was started when the founder Walt....
Oh, not that? ok, well then...
no.
:p
Cars (originally called Route 66 at script) is about a bunch of classic styled race (and not) type car-toons (made that pun up myself! ) that rev it up on ol' Route 66. The cars do talk. At the preproduction stage it was slated to be the holiday 2004 release, but The Incredibles will hit that spot instead. I don't want to say much more than that for fear of spoiling the surprise.
As for the Ugly Offs, well, put your reel in gruvsyco and bring it on my friend! I get razor burn soooo easily (fair skin you see) that in the last competition i replaced the stubble with red rash and cuts. Now THAT is ugly...

Unfortunately the Incredibils teaser is an attachment, which means that it is up to the theater to put
it on the front of Finding Nemo. So call ahead and ask if it is showing and if not, ask them to attach it.
Shot in the dark.
Cheers,
