Anyone?

After a brief power outtage (which I fixed my turn the switch on the fuse box), my computer is not recognizing the operating system. Only if I put the Disk in, then it loads from the disk, it doesn't allow me to repair it or anything.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem?

I have a Boxx 3400, fairly new. They are out of the office until jan 2nd and I am in Kuwait at the moment so catching them is tactful. (When I do reach them, they are incredibly helpful).

Thanks for any advice given.

This sounds as if maybe the harddisk is a goner. Is it listed in the BIOS settings on bootup?
If not it's very likely fried.
The nicer option would be that only some content (bootsector) is scrmabled, but then a repair installation should work.
Cheers
Björn

I haven't checked the Bios to see if the computer recognized it on start up, but on my brief rememberence, I believe I saw it (but I'll confirm).

I try tried to do a repair install from the OS disk, but it doesn't seem to work. I hope this not the "Hard Disk Fried issue".

The Bios is seeing the hard disk. Still the computer will only load from the OS CD only.

Trying not to have a heart attack....

Thanks again, for any helpt given.

Hi Gerry,

I have sent a link to this posting to our tech support manager and would assume he will assign it to one of our techs.

You should be hearing from them shortly.

Considering the price of your Boxx, you might want to invest a few buck in a APC UPS :

I know, that won't sort your problem now, but will prevent any other weird electricity problems in the future :)

I will comply, it's my obvious choice.

Hello Adam - Boxxlabs I will be calling wednesday so you can help me resolve the issue.

Thanks Everyone

Hopefully I can resolve this issue, without spending to much money.
That APC UPS, I'm definately buying that, don't have to tell me twice.
