"New Year's Eve"

You have 60mn for your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.

Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update

1300! Nice timing :-)

17 minutes. Started with some brushes I downloaded. Then I added quite a number of details, so much that you probably will barely be able to see them :P.

Not for Sketch of the Week!!! Is a sketch which is mainly based on brushes made by others still a sketch? I don't think so, but I like the added details enough to post it anyway :).

Hello, this is my first post at the DSF. I know i'm a bit out of theme but i will explain. Sometimes on new years eve we say things like this year i'm going to quit smoking or i'm going to do more things that i like etc. My thought for the next year (month actually) is to leave my fear aside and visit the dentist. Also to start posting images here and learn a bit how to draw. This is a caricature (although i have used a reference and i was going for a more realistic image).

I'm a pretty new member to cgsociety and I'm still pretty new to sketching and drawing in general. I hesitate to take part in these contests and I hesitate to draw in general sometimes because I am not awesome at it. I guess I am a pessimisstic person and whenever things don't turn out the way I want them to I get frustrated. However, I keep trying to tell myself that I have to get the 1 million bad drawings out before I can have the good ones. So what the heck.
