Hello! I'm new with Maya, which is the easyest way to create a 3d text in Maya? I used create->text and bevel, are there other ways? thanks

bevel + ...
I mean, if u used bevel+ (not just Bevel) I see no better way to do text. In Maya.

sure thing. Bevel plus is great for making text in maya, plus you have so many options within bevel plus!

I agree to a point with these guys. Bevel Plus is great.

BUT....

A better solution is Zaxwerks 3D invigorator. It USED TO BE a Maya plugin, but for some reason, they discontinued it. Now it's an After Effects plugin or a standalone (two different versions).

It's a little expensive, ($495 for the standalone version) but if you're going to do a lot of text or logo type stuff, I would recommend it. You can make the model in the plugin, then export it and import it into Maya. LOTS more control, and its biggest advantage over Bevel Plus is the ability to not "fatten" your resulting model. In logo situations, it's especially important that your beveled text isn't actually fatter than the original logo.

They also have a plugin version for Photoshop that's only $149!! I would look into it and see if it's possible to export from the Photoshop version. I don't know why it wouldn't be. It's possible in the After Effects version.

Hope that is helpful to someone. That was a lot of typing. :)
