View Full Version : Ribbon IK alternative?

Ello everyone,

I have a quick question about Ribbon IK's.

I don't really have access to Unlimited, so is it possible to make a similar setup without it (Without using the rivet script either.)

If not, what other alternative setups work in a similar way? Excluding Spline IK's, for they have some serious disadvantages compared to a ribbon IK setup.

hi ,

you can make ribbon setup even with out folicles..Ribbon Spine Step-By-Step - Xenoid (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=4096092&postcount=16)

this uses the pointOnSurfaceInfo nodes which come with maya limited too..

maybe you can look at the new "animator friendly riggign - spine setup" ? i heard its good and i *assume* its not on the lines of ribbon spine..but is still better ! (correct me if i'm wrong) but just another pointer !

Hmm..I've heard alot about this animator friendly rigging DVD's, what kind of techniques does he explain in it, if i may ask?

Need to save up and buy them soon. :/
